Bob Kraft was fine person and a true "fireman's fireman." His passing is the passing of an era when firefighters were underpaid and underappreciated. He did what he did because he loved it, not because it would make him rich. But Bob, as many of us, found that the riches of the fire service came from the human bonds we forged with each other, and the dignity of helping others during the worst times of their lives. Please take a moment this holiday season to say "thank you" to a firefighter, paramedic or police officer for being there. Think too, how our lives would be if no one did these jobs.
